Weaver since 1878
A Legacy of French Tapestry and Innovation
For over 140 years, Jules Pansu has been synonymous with exceptional French tapestry and jacquard weaving. Founded in 1878 by Jules Pansu after his military service, the company quickly established itself in Paris, known for its rich and modern designs. Jules Pansu’s innovative techniques and mastery in weaving earned numerous accolades and expanded the brand internationally.
The company flourished under Jules Pansu’s leadership and later under his son, who significantly grew the business abroad. In 1926, Jules Pansu acquired the Tissages de la Lys factory in Halluin, a historic tapestry hub, earning the prestigious EPV label for its exceptional craftsmanship.
The fourth generation, joining in the 1980s, continued to blend tradition with modernity, supported by a creative team including two “Meilleurs Ouvriers de France.” In 2009, a significant collaboration with the Picasso estate marked the beginning of partnerships with renowned artists, ensuring faithful transpositions of their works onto jacquard fabric.
Today, under the fifth generation, Jules Pansu maintains its commitment to innovation and artistic collaboration, working with contemporary designers to offer fresh perspectives on tapestry and jacquard weaving.
